Crane Currency is located within Tumba Bruks historical area, approximately 30 km south of Stockholm, about 20 minutes from Stockholm Central.


Do you want to be a key team player with the fastest growing currency supplier in the world? Crane Currency in Tumba, Sweden, is looking for a Senior Technologist /Project Leader to join our R&D department. The team leads development, scale-up and commercialization efforts of new technologies in the areas of paper making, security features and print for the currency business.


Your key responsibilities will be to research and assist in identifying and evaluating new technologies and to provide technical expertise to marketing, sales, and product management. You will also be working in areas with respect to improving product quality and developing new processes. Furthermore, you will lead development projects and apply your analytical skills and experience as a user of Six Sigma tools to identify and mitigate project risks, design experiments and trials.



  • Graduate or Post Graduate degree from accredited college/university in technical field of study; preferably a degree in Paper Science, Print Technology, Material Science, Physical Science or Chemical Engineering.
  • Approximately 10 years’ experience in R&D, Process Engineering or Manufacturing environment, preferably in the paper/pulp, banknote, and/or print industry.
  • Experience from a leader role within project management, PMI certification is highly desirable.
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English is essential, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience of Six Sigma is highly desirable.
  • Ability to translate technical decisions/strategies into business terms and implications.


As a person you are flexible and build good relationships with both internal and external contacts. Furthermore, you are comfortable to work as an individual contributor, with a potential to take on additional responsibilities as team leader in future.


Some travel may occur in this role, therefore you need to be willing and able to travel when required.
